Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We know you might have questions. Is there a god? Why are we here? I’m afraid we can’t help with those. However, if you have any questions about your stay, you’re likely to find the answer below;

Do you have free wifi?

Yes, we have FREE high-speed WIFI available throughout the hostel.

What about towels & linen?

All linen is provided, and you will find towels on your bed in all private rooms and in our self-catering apartment. If you’re staying in a dorm, just please ask a member of staff on duty and we will give one for free.

Are breakfast, lunch or dinner available on site?

Unfortunately, we don’t provide any breakfast, lunch, or dinner, however, we have FREE tea/coffee/milk/sugar/salt/spices/olive oil. From 6 am, you have full access to our kitchen so feel free to prepare your own breakfast.

As an alternative, because we are so close to the city centre (10 minutes away walking distance), you’ll find a range of options for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

For the last two, we highly recommend you check out the Caste Tavern Restaurant, next door to us. It’s a gastropub offering high-quality food for reasonable prices and the best part of it, it’s just a few seconds away from the hostel!

Do you have a luggage room?

All of our dormitories are equipped with individual lockers with a code access.

You will also be able to leave your belongings in our bag storage area FREE of charge, either before checking in or after checking out.

Be aware that there is no overnight access (11pm-6am)

Are hair dryers available?

Yes, you can borrow one for FREE. Please ask one of the staff on duty.

It will be ready on the same day, usually in the evening.

We provide the laundry liquid. Both washing and drying are 5£.

When can I check in/ check out?

Check-in is from 5pm and check-out is 11am.

I’m arriving late, will reception be open?

Our reception closes at 11pm. If you are due to arrive after this time, then please contact us by email or phone to arrange a late check-in.

Depending where you are booked in, we can arrange a self-check in free of charge or we will have to wait for you and charge you a late arrival fee which is 5£ per half hour after 11pm.

Can I book via the website, over the phone or directly at the door?

Of course, you will get the cheapest price by booking direct with us.

The best way to book with us is still through our website , as you will be able to see all the rates and availability. It’s also secure and you will receive a booking confirmation.

If you book over the phone, it would need to be during our opening hours and we will need to ask you all the same information anyway.

How do I cancel my booking?

All the bookings you will make through another platform like OTA’s (such as, Expedia, Hostelworlds,etc..) will need to be cancelled directly there. These are third party websites and we cannot do anything about that.

However, if you booked direct with us (Bazpackers website, phone-in, walk-in) then all you need is to give us a call during our opening hours (9am-11pm) to : +44(0)1463717663 providing us your reservations details and we will cancel the booking for you. However, conditions apply and in some cases we won’t be able to cancel. Please check the next question related to our cancellation policy.

What is the cancellation policy?

This property has 2 different cancellation policies:

  • Base rate: free cancellation up to 72hrs of your arrival date; cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay and your booking will be cancelled.
Please note: if you book a “base rate” (3 days /72hrs cancellation policy) and pay by Paypal, you’ll be automatically charged the full amount. However, if you wish to cancel, you can do so anytime up to 3 days day prior check-in and you will be eligible for a full refund. We reserve the right to temporarily hold an amount 3 days prior to arrival, which is simply making an authorization on your card. If this authorization fails, we reserve the right to cancel your booking. We will always contact you to let you know but it’s in your interest to let us know as soon as possible to avoid any last minute disappointments. Cancelling less than 72 hours will lead to the charge of the full remaining balance.
  • Non-Refundable rate: cancellation at any time after the reservation will result in a total charge of the amount due. Please note that if you book a non-refundable rate and that we are unable to charge your card, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation.

Dual rates selection:If both non-Refundable rates and Standard rates are chosen on the same reservation, the most restrictive rate policy applies which means the non-Refundable rates for the entire reservation.

Are there any discounts codes available?

Check out our website or Instagram, you never know!

Can I book without a credit card? Can I pay by cash on arrival?

We are no longer accepting cash and you will need a valid credit/debit card in order to secure the booking.

Do you accept large groups?

Due to the small size of our hostel, we are unable to accept groups over 6 people.

Can under 18s stay in the hostel?

We don’t allow anyone under the age of 18 to stay in a shared dorm. If you are under 18, you’ll need to stay in a private room and be accompanied by an adult.

Will all my friends/family be able to stay in the same room?

If you’ve made a booking in one of your private rooms or our self-catering apartment, you have nothing to worry about.

You will be with your friends/family for sure!

However, if you booked beds in a dormitory, even if we will try our very best to accommodate everyone in the same dorm, we cannot guarantee this.
